Smartphone support
Everyone seems to have a smartphone and or tablet these days, some are better then others, but lets just say you get what you pay for.
There are so many brand names and types of devices out there. Whether its just an e-reader or a full fledged do it all tablet, like the Samsung Galaxy tab or the apple iPad. If your going to spend the money on a device we recommend a Samsung Galaxy or iPad over the less expensive versions, as you will experience less headaches in the long run.

The age of the device will also add to your headaches, as some phones don't seem to retain the same functionality over time, this may be due to an out of date operating system or other settings that have not been configured properly like APN's ( access point names) which are responsible for receiving MMS messages, or are out of date. Either way some of the phones we have troubleshooted for clients, have had the features of sending and receiving messages like photos and videos as they feature on the box, but require 3rd party messaging applications to be installed to carry out the process. This is more then likely due to an out of date OS (operating system) or tweaks the carrier or manufacture have performed to the OS and device.

So why not just check to see if the is an OS update to fix the issue. Well depending on if the company who manufactured your device, they may have discontinued support and maintenance for the device, which means there will be no more updates or support available in the future. If this occurs your best bet is to upgrade/buy and new device that is still supported.
